• 🗺️General Introduction – Social Science

Level: 3rd Year of Bachillerato (3rd BGU)

Main Topic: Protecting the Environment in Ecuador

The social sciences provide us with the tools necessary to understand how people interact with each other and with the world around them. These disciplines examine our cultures and communities and the challenges we face as a society.
One of the most pressing concerns today is protecting our environment. In this unit, we will explore how everyday decisions and large-scale human activities impact the natural world. We will study the importance of the Ecuadorian Amazon, the risks posed by natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, and the hidden dangers of ghost nets in our oceans.
Through projects, debates, and case studies, you will learn to analyze problems and propose responsible solutions. You will also practice expressing your opinions in English, thereby strengthening your academic skills and awareness as a global citizen. Protecting nature is an environmental, social, cultural, and economic responsibility.

Together, we will discover how our actions can contribute to sustainability and how we can become leaders in caring for our planet as Ecuadorians. 🌍🤝
